Inviting Rango like a person: the calendar-invite workflow

The most underrated thing about Rango is that it is invited like a human being.

One address, any calendar

When you create your agent, it gets its own email address. That address is the whole integration: add it to a Google Calendar event, an Outlook invite, or anything else that sends a standard invitation, and Rango reads the invite, finds the meeting link — Meet, Zoom or Teams — and joins at the start time.

There is no admin console, no OAuth grant to your calendar, no bot marketplace, no IT ticket. If you can invite a colleague, you can invite Rango. That also means anyone in your company can do it without asking permission — and so can someone outside it, by forwarding the invite the way they would for any attendee.

Recurring meetings are the payoff

Add the address to a recurring series once and every occurrence has the agent in it. Standups, weekly planning, the monthly customer check-in: the memory those meetings build up — decisions, owners, the story so far — is exactly what makes the agent useful in week six. The meetings where you would never bother to set up a bot are the ones where an invited-once guest quietly earns its keep.

The details that make it trustworthy

• Rango appears in the participant list under its own name. Everyone can see it is there.
• It posts a short arrival message saying how to address it. It is never a silent recorder.
• It speaks only when called by its wake phrase — being mentioned in the invite, or in the meeting, triggers nothing.
• Remove it from the invite and it stops coming. The invite is the permission.

When you'd paste a link instead

The paste-a-link path on the front page exists for the meeting that is happening right now — no invite to edit, just "get in here." Both paths end in the same place: a guest that answers to "Hey Rango," and a written record when the call ends.
